NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) - MESA, A Collaborative Kitchen, opens MESA Kids Cooking School.

The grand opening "Open House" is Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. It will be followed by a Summer Cooking Camp.

Light refreshments will be served, and families will have the opportunity to see the space and enroll their children in a summer camp or cooking class.

The first summer camp week happens from July 16 - 20, 2108, and focuses on Italian cuisine as part of a tour around the world camp series.

Other camps in the following weeks will highlight baking around the world, including French and Mexican cuisines.

MESA Kids Cooking School will feature cooking camps, classes and themed events for children ages 7 to 14.

Summer camps are available Monday through Friday in half-day sessions from either 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m.

The cost for each week-long camp is $169 for members or $199 for non-members per student.

Evening classes begin on July 30.

Classes and camps will be taught by the region's top chefs and culinary instructors, including chef Liz Martino of Adrienne & Co. Bakery Cafe and chef Emie Dunagan of The 502 Bar & Bistro.
