ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a woman they say was beaten to death by a 20-year-old man in Elizabethtown on Saturday.

Police say that 18-year-old Amber Robinson, of Florida had to be identified with dental records.

According to an arrest report, 20-year-old Joseph Capstraw was arrested Saturday around 11:30 a.m. and charged with her murder.

Police said while officers were investigating a suspicious call just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of McCullum Avenue in Elizabethtown, police found Capstraw with a witness. According to the witness, Capstraw said, "I killed her."

Officers were led to Joan Avenue, where Robinson's body was found.  Investigators say Capstraw waived his rights and said he had been alone with the victim.

"Following a verbal altercation with the female, he blacked out," the arrest report states. Police say when he came to, Capstraw saw Robinson was "badly beaten."

Capstraw had several injuries on his hands and said he had beaten Robinson to death.   

In a press release, the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office in Georgia initially asked the public for help in identifying the female victim. 

Capstraw reportedly met Robinson at a "Rainbow Family of Living Light" gathering held in Georgia. The two were seen hitchhiking from the event.
