LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police now have a description of the vehicle they believe hit and killed a woman in east Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police used social media to ask the public for help finding a 2003 to 2005 purple Honda Element. It is the car detectives believe was involved in the death of 24-year-old Jadylynn Rebecca Myers.

Sergeant Bill Patterson from the LMPD Traffic Unit said investigators believe Myers was walking east on Shelbyville Road in the early morning hours of Monday, July 9. At some point, she was hit by a car near Valhalla Golf Club. The driver didn't stop. She died at the scene. Her body was later found, and police are trying to find the car that hit her.

Patterson said based on evidence found at the scene, the SUV likely has damage to its right side including a missing right mirror.

Police found Myers' body Tuesday morning along Bircham Road, off Shelbyville Road near Valhalla.

"So what we're looking for right now is any help from the public that can assist us in solving this case as far as who is responsible," said Patterson.

Anyone who knows anything about the crash should call 502-574-LMPD (5673) or 502-574-2445.
