LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Newburg residents are expected to protest plans to open a liquor store in an old Moby Dick restaurant.

The Moby Dick on Poplar Level Road near East Indian Trail is vacant now, but some residents don't want to see a liquor store open there. Louisville Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin is inviting people to attend a protest planned for 6 p.m. Monday.

Shanklin says there are already too many liquor stores in the area.

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will decide whether the liquor store can open.
