LMPD: Louisville man held woman captive, stole her phone
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man on charges of kidnapping and robbery.
Anthony Winston, 47, was arrested Tuesday.
According to an arrest report, on May 25, 2018, Winston allegedly contacted a female victim so that the two could "hang out together."
Police say Winston directed the victim to a nearby apartment building where she believed Winston lived.
Winston initially instructed the victim to go to the laundry room, but she refused to stay, according to police. Officials say Winston then led the victim to a nearby stairwell, where he held her against her will for more than two hours as he demanded sex and her cellphone. According to police, he eventually did get the victim's phone.
Investigators say Winston eventually did get the victim's phone. The woman had bruising on both of her arms.
Winston is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
