TARC's 'LouLift' offering expanded service to Louisville attractions
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville has relaunched and expanded its free shuttle service to area attractions.
It's called LouLift and uses TARC's nine, newly redesigned ZeroBuses.
The route includes Main and Market streets from Ninth on the West to Wenzel on the east. And, the route has expanded to include the Speed Art Museum, Churchill Downs, and other attractions south of downtown on Fourth Street.
The electric bus is WiFi enabled, air conditioned, and will operate seven days a week.
"This has been a project we've worked on for several years. You might ask why it took so long?" said Karen Williams, president and CEO of Louisville Tourism. "Well, three years ago, we didn't have the growth we have today. We knew it was coming, and we said, 'we have to be ready with our visitors.'"
The new LouLift black and white design will be rolled out on buses and bus shelters over the next few weeks.
