LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was Christmas in July at a local business Thursday, but it was all about getting a jump start on the area's biggest annual toy drive.

Korrect Optical on Dutchmans Lane encouraged customers to bring in a donation for "Toys for Tots." And there was a special focus on gifts for teenagers who often aren't thought about during the drive.

"We had to take care of 17,000-plus kids last year in six counties," said Cletis Evans with Toys for Tots. "And that's not a number to brag about. But, I'll tell you this much: Every toy counts. No matter if it's just one that I get today or ten, every one counts."

Customers also had a chance to meet WDRB Sports Anchor Katie George and test their skills at games.

If you missed this chance to donate, AMVETS Post 61 on Smyrna Parkway is hosting a motorcycle event Saturday for Toys for Tots. It also will focus on toys for older kids.
