2 Louisville nonprofits launch clean water training center in Senegal
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville groups are playing a big role to bringing clean drinking water to Africa.
Nonprofits WaterStep and Global Solidarity Initiative launched a training center in Senegal, which will give communities there tools and training.
WaterStep is already working in a number of African countries to install safe water systems and provide health and hygiene training.
The organization says one in ten people worldwide do not have access to safe water, and Africa is one of the worst-affected regions for waterborne illness.
