LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say an elderly man sustained serious injuries after a Louisville man punched him in the face in a Walgreens parking lot.

According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on Friday, June 8, in the parking lot of Walgreens at 3410 West Broadway.

Police say an elderly man was walking through the parking lot with a cane, when 20-year-old Johnquise Grady almost hit him with his car.

At that point, the elderly man hit Grady's vehicle with his cane. Grady then stopped his car, got out of the vehicle and punched the elderly man in the face. The elderly man fell backwards, hit his head on the concrete and was knocked unconscious.

He was hospitalized as a result of his injuries. Police say he suffered from bleeding to his brain and hearing loss. He still gets migraines as a result of his injuries, according to police.

Grady allegedly admitted to the crime, which was captured on surveillance video.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 19. He was taken into custody on Tuesday morning. Grady is charged with second-degree assault.
