VIDEO | Participants of La Grange Police citizens academy voluntarily tasered
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The La Grange Police Department has posted videos on social media which apparently show participants in a citizens police academy being voluntarily tasered.
In the first video, posted on Facebook Friday afternoon, a woman can be seen with two men standing next to her.
"My name is Meryl Phillips," she says, laughing. "It's July 26, 2018, and this is voluntary exposure."
"Are you ready?" one of the men asks.
"No," the woman says, exhaling.
A moment later, the taser is fired, and she falls to the ground screaming.
"Oh, my lands!" she says moments later, on the ground, as several people in the background -- apparently several other participants in the citizens academy -- can be heard sharing a laugh at her expense.
A second video, posted by the La Grange Police Department, appears to show another participant, Max Klosterman, being voluntarily tasered. That video is posted below. (WARNING: Video contains some profanity.)
According to the department's website, the La Grange Police Department holds an annual citizens police academy that takes place every Thursday for 10 weeks. For more information, CLICK HERE.
