Family of man killed in hotel parking lot says they forgive whoever killed him
LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) – It has been two years since a Louisville man was gunned down in the parking lot of a Louisville Hotel and the case has officially gone cold.
Sunday afternoon, the family of 28-year-old Stepfon Harris gathered near the parking lot of the Hampton Inn at 1st and Jefferson Streets to remember the father of five.
July 30, 2016 LMPD officers responded to the shooting in the Hampton Inn Parking lot around 3:30 a.m. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
“We’re a strong family. We want justice for my brother,” Sierra Harris said.
Community Activist Christopher 2X said Harris was an active volunteer in the community and attended rallies.
Harris’ mother says while she still deals with moments of anger and sadness, forgiveness and faith is what gets her family through the tough times.
“Today I am in a good spot because I trust in God and I walk with God. I got family that supports me 100 percent, I have friends that support me 100 percent,” Harris’ mother, Simona Minton, said.
Minton has a plea to anyone who knows who killed her son.
“I would just like to say to those who was all involved with Stepfon’s murder, I forgive each and every one of you," she said.
If you have any information about this case you are asked to call the anonymous police tip line at 574-LMPD.
