The locations and intensity of Monday's rain and storms will have a large impact on what we see the rest of the week. The Storm Prediction Center has included our southeastern counties in a Marginal Risk of severe weather on Tuesday (level 1 of 5).

We could still see scattered rain showers and thunderstorms tonight. Those will set up boundaries where storms will fire up on Tuesday.

The center of low pressure creating all these rain and storm chances will move through our area early Tuesday morning.  That circulation will help spark storms, too.

Storms Tuesday could start early - don't let that catch you by surprise - and will continue off and on through the afternoon.

Some of these storms could be strong with gusty wind and heavy rain as the main threats.

A few showers will still be possible Wednesday, so we take the rain totals all the way through the end of the day. If you see thunderstorms, you will have higher rain totals (anywhere from 1"-3"). If you miss all the storms this week, your totals will be lower (less than 1").
