2 arrested after chained-up Metro Corrections inmate beaten and robbed
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville Metro Corrections inmates are facing more charges after police say the pair assaulted a third inmate.
According to police, the incident happened on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say 20-year-old Tyler Clooney and 23-year-old Amose Green were being held inside jail cells awaiting court. Officials say the victim was "handcuffed and belly chained around the waist." According to police, the victim was lying on the floor asleep and waiting to appear in court when he was assaulted and robbed.
Police say Clooney stomped on the victim's head while wearing heavy leather work boots and the victim was not able to defend himself. Police say Green took the victim's shoes during the incident and admitted to doing so.
Investigators say "the victim suffered contusions and lacerations to the face and head."
Officials say the victim positively identified Green and Clooney.
They are both charged with second-degree assault and second-degree robbery.
