LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A soldier at Fort Campbell died during a training accident on post Wednesday.

The 101st Airborne Division soldier, who has not been identified, was injured during "routine training," according to a news release. The soldier was transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on post, where he died.

"Our hearts mourn for the family during this tragic time,” said Brig. Gen. Todd Royar, acting senior commander of the 101st Airborne and Fort Campbell. “We are eternally grateful for this Soldier’s service to his country and to the 101st Airborne Division.”

The accident is still under investigation.
