LMPD: Man says 'he wants to go to prison' after robbing gas station
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man who reportedly told them he wanted to go to prison after robbing a local gas station.
Trehvon Junior, 19, was arrested on Saturday in the 4000 block of Brownsboro Road, near Herr Lane and Lime Kiln Lane.
According to a police report, Junior entered a Shell Oil station on Saturday while wearing a mask and "armed with a sharp object." Police say he demanded money.
Authorities say another customer who was armed intervened and Junior ran away. He was arrested a short time later, and police recovered a weapon and mask.
Once in custody, police say Junior admitted to committing the robbery. According to police, he also stated "he wants to go to prison and intended to stab the store clerk." Investigators say he also stated that he would have stabbed the clerk had the armed customer not intervened.
Junior is charged with first-degree robbery. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $10,000 cash bond.
