LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two men were arrested Friday evening after police say they were found inside a vehicle with sophisticated compartments hiding a large amount of heroin, fentanyl and other drugs.

According to arrest reports, police stopped 19-year-old Nelson Acosta and 33-year-old Juan Estrada in the northbound lanes of I-65, a couple of miles before the Outer Loop exit, just after 6:30 p.m. Police say they were inside a silver Nissan and were stopped for a traffic violation.

While police were investigating, a police K-9 allegedly indicated that there might be drugs inside the vehicle.

Police say they found two sophisticated hidden compartments under the front seats. Inside the compartments, officers allegedly found several pounds of heroin, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl pills and a stolen handgun.

Police say the men had strong ties to Arizona and Mexico.

They were arrested and charged with enhanced trafficking in heroin, enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine, enhanced trafficking in an unspecified drug and receipt of a stolen firearm. Estrada is also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
