LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Lexington have arrested a man who allegedly followed a bartender home and tried to rape her.

WKYT reports that the victim told police she got off work at a bar in downtown Lexington around midnight last month. She says Gary Barker started following her to her apartment complex, but she just assumed he lived there.

When she turned around, she says Barker was taking his pants off and tried to force his way into her apartment. The victim told police he was able to get inside and forced her against the wall before she used a bottle of mace on her key chain to stop the attack.

Barker is charged with rape.
