ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) - Superintendent Teresa Morgan says the district is ready to welcome back all 15,000 of its students.

"Each parent received a card with their child's transportation information on it. It tells them what time pickup will be, what time drop off will be, and the bus number," said Morgan.

New this year, the district rolled out a "safe schools hotline" for students and parents.

"It's another layer of protection for our students. We hope they will utilize that if they have concerns about bullying or their safety at school," said Morgan.

Anyone can contact the Safe School Helpline any time of the day or night to report concerns about unsafe or potentially disruptive activities or situations including drug or alcohol abuse, weapons, harassment, bullying, threats or discussions about possible suicide. All calls are completely confidential. For more information on that hotline, click here.

The first day of school in Hardin County is Thursday, August 9, 2018.
