Ford provides some employees with 'upper-body exoskeletons'
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ford is giving some employees a high-tech boost.
The automaker is providing employees with a new upper-body exoskeleton. It's for employees who perform repetitive overhead jobs.
The EksoVest is designed to support a worker's arms while performing overhead tasks, such as using power tools to screw in bolts to secure the car's brace. The vest provides lift assistance from five pounds to 15 pounds per-arm.
Employees at 15 of Ford's plants will have access to the vests.
