LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin joined President Donald Trump on Thursday to talk about prison reform.

Bevin joined several other governors in a meeting with Trump at his New Jersey golf club.

The Trump administration has been pressing Congress to pass legislation to give the Bureau of Prisons $50 million over the next five years. The money would go toward drug treatment, education and job skills programs.

"One of the single most important things we're doing is to help former inmates in creating jobs," Trump said. "We're creating so many jobs that former inmates for the first time are really getting a shot at it."

Besides Bevin, leaders from Georgia, Mississippi and North Dakota were also at Thursday's meeting.
