POLICE: Accused burglar caught living in Fern Valley Road self-storage facility
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested two men they say committed several burglaries at a public storage facility -- one of whom was actually living there, illegally.
According to arrest reports, the burglaries took place at Public Storage, a self storage facility located at 6714 Preston Highway, just south of Fern Valley Road.
Police say 55-year-old Clinton Weber was living at the storage facility illegally. According to arrest reports, he broke into a locker and hid there, waiting until the evening when the employees left for the day. He would then emerge and burglarize various units.
Police say his actions were captured by surveillance video on more than one occasion.
He was assisted by an accomplice, according to police: 26-year-old Patrick Murphey. Police say Murphey brought a truck that he and Weber used to transport large items that they stole.
Both men were arrested Thursday night and charged with several counts of third-degree burglary. They are currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
