LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- 50 kids from the Louisville area will now sleep much better before the start of school.

Kids who didn't have a bed of their own were surprised with a brand new bed set at Slugger Stadium on Saturday.

The Louisville Bats teamed up with Ashley HomeStore and the Salvation Army for the "Hope to Dream" program.

Each bed comes with a twin mattress, pillow, sheets and a comforter.

"Our theme for 2018 is difference maker, and so we want to challenge all our employees as well as all of our guests to be difference makers," organizer Lauren Hamsley said. "So we want the kids to be a difference maker in their home, a difference maker with their friends and their communities as well."

A portion of all mattress sales at Ashley HomeStore goes towards the program.

The store has given away 60,000 beds to kids across the U.S.
