Trial for whistleblower lawsuit against city government, LMPD to continue Monday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The trial of a demoted LMPD officer against Metro Government is set to continue Monday.
LMPD Lt. Jimmy Harper filed a whistleblower lawsuit last summer after he was demoted from major, claiming it was because he expressed concerns about the way Chief Conrad was running the department.
Last week, Conrad testified that Harper was demoted for being an administrative disaster.
But on Friday, Chief Conrad's integrity was under attack by Metro Council President David James.
James said Conrad surrounds himself with "yes" people, and doesn't like to hear the word "no." But Mayor Greg Fischer gave a strong endorsement of Conrad.
The trial is expected to wrap up this week.
