Police say LaRue County deputy jailer raped, sodomized inmates
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Radcliff man is accused of raping and sodomizing several inmates while he was employed as a deputy jailer at the LaRue County Detention Center.
According to an arrest report, 42-year-old Jerome Perry told Kentucky State Police that he had engaged in sex acts with two different inmates three times. Police say he also admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with a third inmate at the jail.
He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon at the Kentucky State Police Elizabethtown post. He's charged with three counts of third degree sodomy and one count of third degree rape.
Captain Shannon Judd with the LaRue County Detention Center released the following statement on Wednesday afternoon:
"On 8/27/2018 a concerned inmate requested to speak to myself about an incident. She relayed information about inappropriate relations between former Deputy Perry and two female inmates. Upon receiving this information both female inmates were interviewed. One admitted the allegations were true and provided a written statement. The other denied allegations and provided a written statement. Video evidence was searched of said allegations. Jailer, Johnny Cottrill was immediately notified. Department of Corrections was immediately notified and sent the E.O.R. and PREA report. I also notified the Kentucky State Police immediately to further the investigation and press charges. All evidence and statements have been turned over to KSP."
Perry is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
