Vine Grove man accused of running over daughter's legs after argument over dog
VINE GROVE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Vine Grove man is accused of running over his daughter's legs after police say the two engaged in an argument over a dog.
Charles Rakes, 55, was arrested on Friday.
According to an arrest report, on Sept. 4, Rakes and his adult daughter got into an argument over his dog getting out of his truck at his daughter's home in Radcliff.
Officials say witnesses stated that Rakes got into his truck and intentionally hit his daughter with his truck and then ran over her legs with his tires. He then backed up over her while she was lying on the ground and drove over forward over her again before fleeing the scene.
Police say the victim suffered "extreme pain and serious injuries to her legs."
Investigators say he also threatened his daughter with a tool.
Rakes is charged with first-degree assault.
He is being held at the Hardin County Detention Center. He's been ordered to have no contact with his daughter.
