LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Churchill Downs takes a gamble and opens its latest entertainment venue.
Derby City Gaming opened Friday morning to the public.
The facility has 900 instant racing machines, where people bet on races that have already run.
Churchill Downs invested $65 million into the project.
Along with the racing machines, there is also a restaurant, bar and space for live entertainment.
"It's really nice, they've got a lot of machines in here and all that, it looks the same as any casino and everything that you would go in and everything you can't tell the difference," visitor Bill Compton said.
Derby City Gaming is open from 9 a.m. until 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and for 24 hours Friday through Sunday.
