Kentucky Personnel Board votes to investigate Grimes' use of voter registration database
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Personnel Board has voted to investigate Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes' use of the state's voter registration database.
The State Board of Elections executive director says Grimes and her office have been using the database to look up political party affiliation of current and potential employees.
The executive director says a person who worked for Grimes pressured him to hire someone who was a registered Democrat instead of someone who was a registered Republican.
The Republican was hired, but the Democrat was given a contract job.
An attorney for the State Board of Elections says no evidence of such incidents have been provided.
