Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Dr. Christine Ford both testified last week.

All of us who were interested in the testimony saw most, if not all of it. I'm fascinated that if you're a Democratic senator, your position is that Ford is telling the truth and there is no room to consider that her testimony might be false. If you're a Republican senator, you are as certain that Kavanaugh is justifiably outraged and the accusations, at least against him, are false.

It seems that our Senator's core, moral beliefs run no deeper than their party affiliation regardless of which party they belong to.

Did anyone change their position based on the testimony they heard? Not our Senators. They all used what they heard to justify the position they already had.

Only Jeff Flake, the Republican Senator who got ambushed outside the hearing room, seemed to wobble from the party line. And he admitted he could only do that because he is not seeking re-election!

Whether Ford should be believed based on her testimony, or should be believed because she represents all women who have been abused, or whether you believe Kavanaugh is being falsely accused, one thing is certain: This was a sad day for the United States.

No winners and many, many losers. How can bipartisanship ever return after this?

Call us with your thoughts.

I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
