LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- JCPS has confirmed that 10 students from Iroquois High School were taken to the hospital as a precaution, after one of its buses was involved in a crash with a car.

JCPS spokesman Daniel Kemp says the students were on Bus No. 1228.

It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Bluegrass Avenue in the Beechmont neighborhood, not far from Hazelwood Elementary.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the crash happened after the driver of a vehicle attempting to turn left from eastbound Bluegrass Avenue to northbound Taylor Boulevard lost control, and struck the bus while it was stopped at the traffic light on Taylor Boulevard.

The students were taken to the hospital to be checked out after complaining of neck and back pain. Three were taken to Norton Women and Children Suburban Hospital, and seven were taken to Norton Children's Hospital in downtown Louisville.

The bus driver was taken to Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries reported.
