LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 33rd annual Bardstown Road Aglow is Saturday, December 1st.

It's a popular holiday event for the Highlands neighborhood to kick off the holiday buying season.

Last year, an estimated 60,000 people attended Bardstown Road Aglow.

The 2018 festivities include the Maker's Mark Giving Mug campaign, Park Community Credit Union's Polar Palooza, and the Big Spruce Light Up.

Participating restaurants will serve a holiday inspired beverage in a Maker's Mark mug dipped in red wax.

A portion of each cocktail sold will benefit Gilda's Club of Louisville.

The Park Community Credit Union's Polar Palooza festivities are from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the corner of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway.

Visitors can enjoy kids activities such as face painting, games, letters to Santa, and "Selfies" early in the night. Live music is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Big Spruce will be Lit Up in the Wendy's parking lot on the corner of Bardstown Road and Grinstead Drive around 5:30 p.m.
