LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A little bit of rain didn't stop the thousands of people who made their way to the Highlands Saturday night for the annual Bardstown Road Aglow.

People got a chance to check out local shops and restaurants along Bardstown Road to kick off the holiday season.

The event brings local merchants some of their highest sales all year.

"The holiday season is our biggest time of year, and we're always so excited to be a part of Bardstown Road Aglow. It's honestly my favorite night of the year," said Michelle Shaver, manager at Carmichael's Kids.

Bardstown Road Aglow is now in its 33rd year. Organizers say an estimated 30,000 people or more attended this year's event.
