LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than two dozen officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department got promotions on Wednesday.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and LMPD Chief Steve Conrad praised the men and women for their service and dedication.

Twenty-nine officers were promoted. One became a major, there are several new lieutenants, and 21 officers were promoted to sergeant.

A reception was held to honor them after Wednesday's ceremony.
