Man arrested after video taping children in Wal-Mart

Louisville Metro Police arrest a Mount Washington man they say committed some despicable acts against children.

Police believe the Mount Washington man made the rounds with his video camera.  The say he did a lot of taping.  But his his subjects and content, landed him behind bars.

Metro police say 28-year old Brandon Ward Duffy, used his video camera on more than one occasion at a Wal-Mart store in Fern Creek. They say he videotaped young boys in the bathroom.

But last Friday,  the taping all came to an end, in the men's bathroom.  Police say he followed a young boy into the restroom but was confronted by a customer.

Phil Russell, Louisville Metro Police says, ""Once he was confronted, he hid from the store security inside a bathroom stall and apparently attempted to destroy evidence by flushing the memory card of his camera down the toilet."

Police don't believe this is the first time Duffy has done this.  As they put their case together, they'll be analyzing ''their'' video surveillance tapes from Wal-Mart stores.

A tape shows Duffy, leaving and entering the Fern Creek store.  Shots of him walking down the aisles and entering and driving away in his pick-up truck.

The arrest report says this is Duffy's home, on Falcon Crest Road in Mount Washington.

Bullitt County detectives, armed with a search warrant, came calling last week, searching for evidence as well.

When Duffy was questioned by Wal-Mart security and Louisville Police Friday, he reportedly told them more.

Russell says, "He admitted to them that he had traded child porn online, that he had in his possession child porn on his computer and that he had taken pictures of these young boys, with his camera.  His video camera."  Police confiscated his home computer, and detectives will analyze it.

Duffy is charged with promoting the sexual performance of a minor under 16, "use" of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance and tampering with physical evidence.
