Plane crash pilot's condition improves

The Federal Aviation Administration is on the scene of Wednesday's plane crash in a Louisville neighborhood.

Workers are in the process of trying to remove the plane from a backyard.

Meanwhile, the plane's pilot is in fair conditon at University Hospital.  William Lebre had just taken off from Bowman Field to fly to Bloomington, Indiana when his plane lost power.

He didn't make it back to the airport, but managed to crash between two houses. His plane landed upside down on a fence between two backyards.  No one else was hurt.

A family friend says Lebre had surgery for a laceration in his side.  He's expected to stay in the hospital for several days.
