Big Four Bridge to be inspected

By Friday or Monday, inspectors should be able to check out how badly a fire damaged the Big Four Bridge on Wednesday.

It's believed wiring attached to navigation lights may have started the blaze.  And in about a month, engineers will look into whether the steel from the bridge itself was damaged.

This is not the first fire on the structure.  David Karem with the Waterfront Development Corporation says other fires have gotten hot enough to affect the steel's structural integrity.  Engineers will have to take out a chunk of the steel from the bridge to test it in a lab.
