It's time to build the downtown arena. This is an investment in the future that we'll use to market Louisville the way we use our parks system or arts programs. These amenities don't pay for themselves either, but what would we use to sell Louisville if we didn't have them?
A downtown arena is the difference maker we need - not to become the next Atlanta or Chicago, but to compete for more young people and good paying jobs with Charlotte, Indianapolis or Nashville.
This is why the Young Professionals Association of Louisville is encouraging citizens all over Kentucky to contact state lawmakers and let them know we need an arena in Downtown Louisville to help achieve our long-term goals.
Please join us by calling the state legislative message line at 800-372-7181 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Tell the operator you want to leave a message for ALL lawmakers encouraging them to include the arena in this budget. It will only take you a few minutes to make a difference in the future of our state.
YPAL believes this is an investment that will be looked back upon decades from now as a worthy, calculated risk. It's time to break away from our "can't do" attitude and take the next logical step in making Louisville the world class city our political leaders claim to want to see us become.
I'm Eric Gunderson, President of YPAL, and that's my...Point of View.
