It's been a while, so let's take a look at some recent Point of View feedback.
I recently said I thought students shouldn't automatically win admission to Jefferson County's traditional schools simply because their siblings already have. But Rick of Louisville countered by saying, "The answer to all of these problems would be to create more traditional schools for students who want that style of education. But the school board doesn't want to do that because it's too much work."
And speaking of the school board...
My recent complaint about its consistent failure to follow any accepted business principles was seconded by a principal at one of our local public schools, who wrote, "Our school board is uninformed. The decisions and comments they make are embarrassing. We need to keep Steve Daeschner as our leader. He's the best we've had in this district."
And finally, my commentary on the unfairness of the so-called "death tax" sparked this response from Bill of Louisville: "If I'm correct, the tax was enacted to finance World War I. I'm sure it has achieved its objective by now and should be repealed."
