Hello, I'm Joe Tolan, President of Metro United Way.
If you asked your family, friends or co-workers "Who would you call if you saw someone having a heart attack?" what would they say? No doubt they'd say call 9-1-1.
But if you asked who they'd call if they needed adult day services for an aging parent? Or help for a family member with substance abuse issues? You might not get many answers.
Would you know where to call? Maybe not - but I'm happy to tell you that Metro United Way has a new service - 2-1-1 - that makes finding answers a great deal easier.
What is 2-1-1? Metro United Way's 2-1-1 is an easy to remember 3-digit phone number that helps connect people to the services they need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
When you call 2-1-1 you'll talk with a professional trained in navigating the often-confusing maze of health and human services.
You may only be familiar with Metro United Way through our annual fundraising campaign. But let me re-introduce you to an old but new friend stepping up to the plate to do even more to help our community be strong.
Get Connected. Get Answers. Call Metro United Way's 2-1-1.
I'm Joe Tolan, and that's my...Point of View.
