Yum Brands returning tomatoes to menus

Some local and national restaurants are serving tomatoes again after a nationwide salmonella scare.

Yum Brands, the Louisville-based fast-food company says it's starting to resupply its restaurants with tomatoes that have been cleared of salmonella risk by federal health officials.  Yum is the parent company to Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, A&W, and Long John Silver's restaurants.

The company and others stopped serving tomatoes earlier this month during a salmonella outbreak linked to tainted tomatoes.

More than 250 people across the country became sick since the outbreak, including a Louisville woman.  Public health officials say she has recovered.
