Toothpaste production ended last December, but the fate of the Colgate building and its famous clock is still up in the air.
The last few workers in the Colgate Palmolive plant in Clarksville are expected to leave by the end of the month. City leaders hope the site can be developed into offices, a hotel, condominiums, or a convention center.
They have talked to three developers. One made an offer for the site two weeks ago.
Colgate has moved most of the equipment it used to make toothpaste and other products to a location in Tennessee.
