Gov. Beshear's Chief of Staff resigns

Gov. Steve Beshear's chief of staff says he will resign effective July 15 to pursue political consulting.

Jim Cauley had served as Beshear's campaign manager before taking the job as his top assistant.  Beshear says Cauley will be "sorely missed."

The governor chose Adam Edelen as Cauley's replacement.  Edelen was an aide to former Gov. Paul Patton and has most recently served as executive director of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.
