No charges filed after woman shoots motorcyclist

Was it a case of self-defense or road rage?  A woman shoots a motorcyclist in the chest during a heated exchange on a busy Jeffersonville street in broad daylight.

No charges have been filed in the case.  Right now, Clark County prosecutor Steve Stewart is treating this as a case of self-defense.

The standard in Indiana is that a person is justified in using force against another person if they are about to be attacked.  Jeffersonville Police say 39-year-old Yolanda Parrish shot 52-year-old Wesley Mosier in the chest Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at Allison Lane in Jeffersonville.  Police say Mosier was on a motorcycle that Parrish claims had been harassing her.

After the shooting, Mosier was rushed to the hospital.  Police questioned Parrish and released her.  That could change once the investigation is finished.

Jeffersonville Police should be finished with their portion of the investigation in the next 24 hours.  The case will go to the Clark County Prosecutor's Office, which will then decide whether to file criminal charges.
