Local healthcare company steps up to keep Waterfront Park beautiful

There's a reason why Louisville's Waterfront Park was named one of the ten best parks in the country by a national magazine.  And a local company is stepping up to keep it beautiful.

Kindred Healthcare has funded a summer-long work program.  The $35,000 donation will go to employ seasonal workers, who will help with park maintenance, litter control, and weeding.

It is part of a city-wide commitment to keep Louisville parks clean.  Mayor Jerry Abramson says of Kindred, "We cannot thank them enough for the commitment."

The clean teams will also serve as Waterfront Park ambassadors, who will provide information to visitors.
