Results from Rubbertown health study expected

Thursday, we're expected to learn results from a large health screening held in west and southwest Louisville.  But residents may not get the answers they were looking for.

People who live near Rubbertown chemical plants have long claimed toxic emissions are responsible for high rates of disease and death in their neighborhoods.

So last fall, thousands of people in surrounding neighborhoods received free screenings by the Louisville Metro Health Department.

But, the health department says today's results will not say what may've caused the illnesses.

Instead, the health department says the voluntary screening study will show what illnesses were found.
