LMPD adds more than 50 officers on the streets

As of Thursday afternoon, the Louisville Metro Police Department has added more than 50 officers on the streets.

Mayor Jerry Abramson and Police Chief Robert White welcomed 51 new officers during a graduation ceremony at Durrett Auditorium.

12 of those were officers in other departments that have now joined the Metro Police Department.  They join a force of about 1200.
