Efforts underway to save west Louisville mansion

Right now, plans are underway to try and save a west Louisville mansion from demolition.

The Louisville-Jefferson County Landmark Authority is meeting to discuss proposals for redeveloping the Ouerbacker House.

Four developers who have submitted proposals to save the mansion must provide evidence they have the money to stabilize the building and restore it.  Many in the community would like to see the mansion saved.

The city is willing to sell the property for a dollar and provide a $100-thousand grant to make repairs.

The biggest problem -- it will cost up to a million dollars to restore it to its former glory.

If no one can, the city will soon be forced to demolish the building because an east wall could soon collapse.
