Louisville Metro offering free AIDS tests

Friday, people across the country, including Kentuckiana, will be taking an important test.

Louisville Metro is offering free AIDS tests.  It's part of National HIV and AIDS Testing Day.

The goal is to not only to increase awareness of the disease, but also treat those who test positive.

Health officials say with the right treatment people living with the disease can live longer.  Hundreds of people in our area are expected to be tested and perhaps millions around the U.S.

The health department will be moving a mobile unit to the Newburg neighborhood next, and then to Iroquois for the remainder of the day.
