Effort to stop explosives facility gets boost from Metro Council

Efforts to stop a Metro Police explosives facility get a boost from Metro Council. A tie vote in committee Tuesday night sent the bill to the full council for a final decision. That should come July 10.

Councilman Doug Hawkins claims police want to put the facility on top of the main water supply for south Louisville.

This is a relatively rare move, for a council member to push for pulling the funding from an already approved budget. It is not clear if Hawkins has enough votes for it, come July 10.
