Rohm and Haas remains closed after hazardous materials spill

A hazardous materials spill forced a Rubbertown plant to remain closed Thursday morning.

Just after ten last night, firefighters were called to the Rohm and Haas Company.  The spill was found during a routine inspection of a rail car filled with a chemical used to make acrylic.

Workers noticed an unusual amount of pressure coming from the rail car.  That's when they called for help.

No workers were injured, but the plant has been shut down as a precaution.
