Key witness in Indiana murder trial disappears
A key witness in an Indiana murder trial has disappeared. Investigators say 31-year-old Ocie Brasher was going to testify about what the defendant told him while they were in jail together.
Brasher went missing from a witness room in the City-County Building in Indianapolis sometime Tuesday morning.
Brasher's mom says she received several threatening phone calls, including one from her son's own cell phone.
Reports say the caller told her, "I've got your son and you ought to get your black dress ready," meaning she should get ready for a funeral.
Henry Karlson of the IU School of Law says the jury should only be told Brasher is unavailable or the defense could ask for a mistrial.
